Now today's video we're talking all about the 10 coolest things that I've learned in the business business as a highly paid consultant. Last time we talked about the coolest thing Number Five being 'build everything around your ideal client, not yourself'. And today we dive into coolest thing number 6, which is use systems and models. Coolest thing Number Six...Use systems, have plans.

Every fitness business, or any business for that matter, needs to create a successful and repeatable business strategy and plan. Now a famous, or I should say, semi-famous golfer once said, and I paraphrase, that..."Golf is a game of chance. The more that I practice, the less chances it takes for me to get that little ball in that little hole.". Now like golf, your fitness business is not a game of chance. It's a game of action and results. And the best actions start with a plan that's proven, it's repeatable, it's trackable, it's controllable, it's tweakable, and it's developed through practice, day in and day out.

Now studies show that approximately 60 percent of businesses in general have a defined sales process, which means that 40 percent (That's almost almost half of businesses) are winging it when it comes to sales. Now it's been my experience that that number is much higher in the fitness industry. Sad to say! Now really successful fitness professionals also reduce the number of "chances" that it takes to constant practice and repeatable performance. They know that it's much more effective to develop, or have a repeatable system, that will produce proven results over and over.

Now if you're a manager you need to help with personal training staff establish these processes and make it repeatable for them whether it be for prospecting the training floor, the sales presentation, or your follow up process, or for your client retention. Your processes for each of these should be simple, understandable, executable, for every single staff member that you have. Every plan or process for a trainer or a manager should clearly define each and every step that is necessary to reach the desired objective in their respective roles.

Now any uncertainty in these plans for a trainer will ultimately lead to: poor lead generation, low sales presentation turnout, low conversion rates and their sales processes, and equally loyal client retention.

Now for the manager with uncertain plans in place it's going to lead to: poor productivity by their trainers with no way to help them, Ineffective coaching, and really overall poor results. Now many many managers out there, they assume that since they have successfully figured it out on their own, that every trainer can do the same. Now this is dead wrong! So there is no substitute for a clearly defined system and processes within that system. Anybody that you hire should be able to easily execute these processes and be successful as a result.

A business system especially personal training. It's a multi-step multi-modality sales funnel of funnels that seamlessly is suddenly leading a member or prospect toward a desired action, such as buying personal training services. In other words, a well optimized personal training business system allows you to sell without selling. Now these processes are the secret to promoting your personal training business without really being pushy or creepy.

So more importantly, business systems, they allow you to fully automate, the keyword 'automate', the entire client acquisition process at your gym or studio, or even your online business.

The fact is that most gyms or studios or any fitness business for that matter they fall into two categories. Either A: they have some sort of personal training 'program' which only consists of a handful of trainers coming in and training a few clients here and there, which are mostly only funneled in from new memberships; or they have a personal training system for generating leads and converting those leads into paying clients but very few really have a truly optimized personal training business system, and they're really most likely hemorrhaging money out the back, which AKA it basically means they're barely breaking even or they're even losing money. So successful fitness businesses they use elements of fitness with successful business practices.

Okay. So by fusing elements of fitness with successful business practices, a great business system teaches a manager and a trainer now, how to effectively increase and managed the front and the back ends of the fitness business. By doing so. So when we talk about the front end of the fitness business we refer to the new business such as prospecting methods, the sales process, which includes the sales presentation and the follow up communication. But when we talk about the back end of the fitness business, we really refer to the renewal business, such as client workouts, relationship building skills, a client for life strategy, or client motivation.

Okay so great system really has three main priorities. Number one: recruiting and staff development blocks, which include like... recruiting methods, staff development phases for your new and existing trainers.

Number two: it's more like leads management blocks, which include detailed leads development, tracking, and a follow up system, through new and existing membership base. There's prospecting management, and there's also elements like special events and things like that.

Now Number three: it's all about your admin duty blocks, which include payroll management, sales contracts, daily sales tracking, client sessions tracking, and things like that.

So that does it for Coolest Thing #6.
