Or category two, where I'm telling you everything that I've accomplished in my life from childhood all the way to adulthood as a trainer. The marathon I've ran, the bodybuilding show I've competed in. In this video, we're going to teach you why it's not about you!

What's up everybody Mike Trotter here with theFitnessBoss.com, helping you take hold of those 166 hours, that your clients undo, when they're not training with you. We're going to talk about the Anti-Trainer. So, let's first start out by breaking down what that even means. Who is the Anti-Trainer. Well, the Anti-Trainer is the trainer who essentially feels that the reason that their client or potential client is going to sign up with them is solely based upon how 'cool' that that prospect or client thinks that they are. Now, 'cool' can be defined a number of different ways.

Here you can have the one trainer who thinks that: "hey, just because I know all about anatomy and physiology uses sign up with me. I'm going to use all the fancy science words and confuse you by letting you know that the knee bone is connected to the whatever bone, in hopes that that is why you should sign up with me". Well, whether you realize it or not, anatomy and physiology is a topic that your potential client or your current client already believes that you understand. So, they're less impressed by it than you think they are.

The other trainer or the Anti-Trainer is one who always talks about everything that they've accomplished. How many bodybuilders shows they've competed in, how many marathons they run, how many eighth-grade basketball games that they got a participation trophy in. Guess what? Those things don't impress your clients as much as you think they do either, simply because your client genuinely cares about: "How is what you're going to do FOR ME going to help me get to where I want to be personally? The information that you know, the things that you've experienced, what you've gone through, how is that going to help ME get to where I want to be and be end?" So, the question is how do you become the trainer who's a master at that? How do you become a trainer that is amazing at painting that picture for the client and letting them know that hey it's not about me, It's about you! It's about me helping you get to where you want to be. Step by step brick by brick. Well, how that happens is from the beginning. It's important that you take the time to sit down with the potential client - the prospect, and find out about them. Find out who they are. Find out what they want to accomplish. And more importantly, find out WHY they want to accomplish it. Because once you understand WHY they want to do something, then it's an easier task for you to push them through the sessions and get them closer and closer to where they want to be.

So, my question is, are you the Anti-Trainer? And if you are, what are you going to do to fix it?
