As a personal trainer, we understand that coming in, your prospect obviously has physical goals that they're looking to accomplish. But a common mistake that we see in the industry is that personal trainers automatically assume that they know what the goal is without asking questions. You see, what a lot of us don't understand is, we're more than just personal trainers, we're artists! And, we are assigned to paint this beautiful picture for our clients, and the only way we get there is by asking the right questions.

In this video, we're going to break down exactly why becoming a master of the Q & A will give you the tools to become that artist.

What's up everybody! I'm Mike Trotter with thefitnessboss.com helping you take hold of those 166 hours that your clients try to undo, when they're not training with you. We pump out content every week here with thefitnessboss.com. So, make sure your subscribed to our channel, if you like and what we put out, make sure you smash that like button and show us some love down in the comments.

In this video, we're going to talk all about mastering the Q&A. So, the question is: what is the Q&A?

From my experience, a lot of trainers have an understanding of how to ask physical questions. You know, "what are you looking to accomplish physically", "Do you want to lose weight?", "Do you want to build muscle?", "Do you want to tone up?", "Do you want to get in shape?". And nothing's wrong with asking those questions. But where the mistake lies is that those questions aren't deep enough. Those questions don't lead you to the emotional reason why your potential client got up off the couch, and walked through the intimidating gym doors, and showed up for a personal training session with you.

You see a trainer who takes the time to sit down and ask meaningful questions that allows them to peel the onion of the potential client layer by layer until they get to the core, well, that provides the trainer with tools, with fuel, with ammo to continue to push the client forward.

What do we mean by that? Well let's face it, a lot of times your client might show up to the session not really 'feeling it' today. And some trainers resort to the... "Come on, you can do it, let's go!" method. But guess what? That is not always the most effective approach. You know what? Sometimes Mrs. Jones doesn't care if she "can do it". What she really cares about is HOW what she's doing going is going to help her get closer to where she wants to be.

So therefore it's important that as a trainer before you even start sessions, you're taking the time to sit down with your potential client and find out not only WHAT they're looking to accomplish, but more importantly, WHY they're looking to accomplish it.

What is it going to benefit them to be able to get there that they aren't feeling the benefits from today?

What's going to change for them? How is life different once they get to that specific goal of theirs?

And it's up to you to continue to paint that picture for them session by session, step by step, along the way. If you can become a master at the Q & A, that allows you to become that artist that we talked about that continues to paint the beautiful picture for your client, and hopes to get closer to where they want to be!

And that will do it for today's video. We'll see in the next video if you'd like this video. Make sure you go ahead and hit that like button, and Subscribe to the fitness boss channel. We put out new and fresh videos every single week to give you practical tools that will help you with your fitness business, your client trainings, and your social media. Today, we talked about the art of mastering Q and A.

So, down below in the comments. Go ahead and give us some examples of the strategies that you're using during the Q & A, and how it's helped you in your personal training sessions. If you're not using a Q & A, let us know why. That will conclude today's video. We'll see in the next video!
