Do you think that because you have the ability to give a great work out that that alone makes you stand out as a personal trainer? Would you believe me if I told you that that's not the case?

In this video, we're going to break down exactly why it's so much more to providing a workout experience than just being able to give a great work out alone.

Today, this video is all about providing the ultimate personal training experience. You see, a lot of trainers seem to think that you are the standout trainer, because you simply know how to provide an excellent workout. Well, if you didn't already know this, here's a news flash... We all know how to do that. Every trainer, from the worst gym in the worst area, all the way to the best trainer at the best gym in the best area, we all can give a great workout. That alone does not allow you to stand out as a trainer. In fact, it's expected!

So the question then becomes, "Well Mike, how do I stand out as a trainer?". The answer to that question is simply to care more. What do I mean by that? Are you on time for your appointments? I'm meaning, you're never late. Are you following up after the session to find out how Miss Jones is feeling? Are you giving her a call and sharing articles with her that may relate to things that you've talked about with her in the session? Are you spending time focused on specifically what she wants to accomplish as your client? Does Mrs. Jones know that you are generally interested in helping her get to where she wants to be personally? Is she convinced that you are the authority when it comes to her specific goals? If she's not, we've got work to do.

So in order to be the trainer that has no problem with retention, your client has to have absolutely no doubt that you are absolutely focused on helping them where they need to get personally.

Allow me to share a story with you from one of my most successful clients who's actually been a client of mine for five years. I asked Pauline why is it that you've continued to renew with me over and over and over again, Week after week, month after month, session after session, for five years. And let's be honest. Pauline is probably in better shape than most people her age. And her answer was very simple and it surprised me at the moment, but it makes so much sense right now. And this is why I want to share it with you. She said, "Mike, when I'm with you, I don't have to wipe the sweat off my brow, you take the towel and you do that for me." She said, "Mike, when I'm with you I don't have to bend down and pick my weights up for myself. You actually do that for me." She said, "Mike, when I'm down doing those mountain climbers that I absolutely hate. when I'm alone and I want to stop, I stop. When I'm with you you're right there down in my ear, not only telling me that I can do it, but you're actually letting me know that I'm doing it for a bigger reason than just the physical workout.".

Those are things that separate you as the trainer because the reality is this guy’s: you don't know a secret lunge that I don't know. And I don't know a secret push-up that you don't know. What's going to make you the trainer that has no problem with retention is caring more by providing the ultimate training experience... and it's the little things!
